I’ve edited journal articles, PhD papers and dissertations, technical writing, genre and mainstream fiction, and one screenplay.
Sometimes I work with new writers one-on-one as an editor and mentor. Here are some of my favorite books that came out of that process:
This lovely new book combines words of wisdom from women through the ages with original art by the author, a retired NASA engineer, who now gives workshops in spirituality. She explains and unfolds a method of contemplative prayer called Lectio-visio Divina. I recommend this book to spiritual directors and spiritual seekers. (Elati Publishing, 2025.)
This book was authored by Fred Plummer, with whom I worked as a writing teacher and coach, and I’m very pleased with the outcome:

I gave co-author Kristin Farry a great deal of editing and proofreading input, reading every chapter at least once and some of the chapters multiple times. This an excellent book and still in print. I’m glad I played a part in its creation.

Proofreading, much less copyediting, aren’t really my skill set. Those activities require an extraordinary attention to detail. For some years, though, I was on the volunteer proofreading team for St. Cecilia Chamber Music Society in Houston.
